Glass
on the control tower was cleaned daily in an attempt to maintain good
visibility. However, a better, low-maintenance solution was required,
and Ritec subsequently renovated and protected the exterior glass with
the ClearShield System.
The
results were dramatic. Says a member of Heathrow's Building Services
Department:
“Since conversion of the Visual Control Room windows from
ordinary glass, regular maintenance using Ritec aftercare products has
ensured that, from the original daily window cleaning schedule, the
windows now are only cleaned once a week".

Bangkok Airport, Thailand
The
Second Bangkok International Airport features a modern steel, aluminium
and glass architecture covering approximately 100,000m2.
The
protection of glass during construction was a high priority for the
construction company and specified the application ClearShield prior to
installation. ClearShield helped to reduce costs and delays on the
construction site by protecting the glass from cement, concrete and
construction dust.
Farnborough Airport Control Tower, UK
Ritec
successfully completed the protection of all glazed areas of the
Farnborough Airport Control Tower.
This
stunning building whose glazing includes both sandblasted and clear
glass is now fully benefiting from the low-maintenance properties of
ClearShield Glass, but most importantly from an increase in visibility
and safety which is critical to the operations of the air traffic
controllers.
The
application was carried out onsite by Ritec's team of specialist
technicians. Some 520m2 of glass was treated.
